Currently, most teams do not know the personal interests among the members that make up a team, on many occasions we do not even know if our co-workers are under a complicated situation in some area of their personal life that may affect them, a situation that we can also see reflected in the educational field, since we do not even have the context of why the instructors teach a specific subject.

In the article “Ten things for which you would be a good teacher” updated in April 2017 by the newspaper “La Vanguardia” relevant points are mentioned to be a good teacher, one of which is to feel interested in teaching the techniques that They are developed each cycle, as well as developing the students personally and socially.

Knowing our instructors is essential, that is why the practice of Management 3.0 personal map can be an ideal element to get to know our team in various aspects. In the execution of this practice, the following categories were used: family, friends, challenges, education, objectives, hobbies, books, trips, values, characters that inspire, music, and movies.

The practice was carried out with a team made up of 4 instructors from upper secondary education in Mexico who are teaching distance classes, to know the general panorama of what surrounds them.

Education at this time has been a sector very affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, for which generating and reinforcing skills in instructors is of vital importance, in addition to providing a good experience to students in remote teaching, is, Therefore, knowing an overview of each member of the team will be essential to discover the interests of each one and the diversity that we have within our team.

The practice was carried out online using the Zoom and Miro tool, through which all the members participated and were able to receive comments or discuss the points that required a group approach.

I invite you to learn more about this practice on the Management 3.0 page https://management30.com/practice/personal-maps/, you can also learn more about the practice of the Management 3.0 Diversity Index at https://management30.com/practice/diversity-index/

The objective of the experiment is to acquire knowledge about the interests that each of the members has, as well as the strengths according to the diversity that the team has. The dynamics consisted of each participant of the team making their personal map according to the aforementioned categories and later each member shared the most important for them in each category, in this way a comparison was made to determine the diversity index of the team.

The dynamics to execute the practice consisted of the following steps:

1. Each team member generates her personal map according to the categories listed.

2. A period of time is determined for each member to expose her personal map.

3. The next step is to jointly determine the areas of diversity according to the categories that were defined in the personal map or others that you would like to analyze.

4. Each member chooses the most important element of each category to determine the diversity index, by category each different element in the participants adds a point and each similar element does not add any points (that is, it only remains in the same score).

5. Finally, the summation of the diversity of all the categories is made and it is divided proportionally by the number of areas and the participants to determine the index, additionally, the team members share their points of view and conclusions of the practice.

Exercise considerations:

· Place at least 2 elements for each category of the personal map.

· Additional categories can be added to those of the personal map to strengthen the description of the participants or simply to consider a category that they would like to share with their colleagues.

·The diversity index was calculated by the points obtained from the team among the maximum points that can be obtained

As a facilitator, I learned that the dynamics we carried out allowed me to combine the results of two Management 3.0 practices (Personal Map and Diversity Index) in addition to knowing the different skills of each participant which can be complemented between them to benefit the teaching. of each instructor’s courses.

The team that participated in the practice observed that the personal maps provide a lot of valuable information from the colleagues of the same team in addition to sharing interesting data about each of the members that in some cases were unknown; Regarding the diversity index, they noted that the greatest diversity lies in the career that each one made, which is related in the same way to the best book that each one considered, the least diversity was related to the most significant trip for each instructor and the type of teaching that each one performs where I consider it important to promote methods such as Problem-based Learning, Gamification, Design Thinking.

My next experiment with these practices will be for the team members to strengthen their personal map with new classifications and for the team to re-evaluate the areas of diversity that had been considered, as well as to include new areas that can support improvements in skills as an instructor (use of tools, use of digital material, generation of classroom practices, etc.).

I invite you to do these practices for yourself, with your group of friends, or with a work team; I advise you to make use of the personal map practice to start a relationship with the members of a team, since it is very useful to break the ice in the first sessions of a work period, while the diversity practice will support you in the training of multi-skill teams and avoid a single course of action every time the job gets more complex.
